Bridie Mills

Counsellor and Psychotherapist

My name is Bridie Mills (he/him), I'm a counsellor and psychotherapist living and working in Naarm (Melbourne). My approach to working with people is relational, which means I am interested in all the ways that relationships to self and others can shape someone. As an integrative psychotherapist, I’m influenced by different modalities, including Focusing-Oriented Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Existential Therapy.

I became a counsellor and psychotherapist through my experience of being in therapy myself, and part of being in this line of work also means that I am open to discovering more about myself all the time.

I find the best way of getting to know if we will work well together is to talk over the phone before organising our first session, so if you’d like me to call you, please book a phone call. This is free of charge.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Experience:

While I was completing my Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I was working in a family violence counselling service.

Since then, I’ve spent time working within the LGBTIQA+ community, which I am a part of. My work was mostly with trans, non-binary, gender diverse and gender questioning people.

I’ve also worked as one of a small number of donor conception counsellors in Victoria, assisting donor-conceived people and their families to navigate unique challenges.

I am registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).

Fees:

$140 per individual session, with limited concession places available. Please let me know when you contact me if you are seeking a concession place.

Donor conception counselling - $190 per session for families or partners. Individual rate $140. Limited concession places for donor conceived people.

Mental Healthcare Plan Medicare rebates are not currently available for counselling and psychotherapy. Sessions can be covered by some NDIS plans and rebates given by some Private Health Funds.

Sessions are 50 minutes and can be online or in person at 503 Sydney Rd, Brunswick. The counselling space is accessible via a ramp with accessible toilets. If you have questions about accessibility, please ask.
